Digital Transformation Director, Katharine Hansford, was named in Campaign Media Week’s 30 under 30 search 2019.

This year, the annual talent search received a record number of entries with 133 people – 87 women and 46 men.

For Katharine, innovation has been central to her career to date. An early highlight for Katharine was creating Publicis Media’s Mobile Diploma, which became the first mobile education series accredited by the IAB. 200 colleagues and 40 clients took the Diploma, providing much-needed education for a growing media channel.

In her current role, I drive client innovation via Publicis Media’s start-up hub, based within Zenith. In 2019 so far, the agency has already invested more in start-up projects than the total investment for 2018.

Her proudest achievement so far is being a co-founder of Women in Tech at Publicis Media. Following a string of negative headlines about diversity in tech, Katharine conducted a company-wide survey, which revealed that women are more likely to associate men with tech roles, and rate their confidence with technology lower. Consequently, Katharine and a team of colleagues created an ongoing programme of events, where inspirational women from the industry give a talk about their specialism, followed by a Q&A hosted by one of Publicis Media’s female tech leaders.
